Yesterday, Cordelia and her cousin spent the afternoon playing with Cordelia's neighborhood friends. They played a couple of board games and spent a while with the Wii (finding enough working remotes was challenging. I need to get Cordelia to sort through the remotes so we can get rid of the ones that don't work). The friends brought over some brownies that their mother had made.

Scott pulled carts at work, so he was pretty thoroughly exhausted when he got home. He didn't want to have to cook, so he suggested going out. (We had nothing to cook anyway. Scott hasn't done the grocery shopping yet this week.) He suggested Blue Nile. I wasn't sure that our niece would actually eat there, so I was dubious, but she said she wanted to try it, so we did. I don't think she ate much but a bit of chicken and a good bit of bread. I suspect that, when it came down to it, the food looked too weird.

Our niece is twelve, so we had to pay full price for her. Scott commented that we were spending all of his overtime money for the week. Cordelia is still half price, though.

After dinner, we went to the Washtenaw Dairy for ice cream. I'd have liked to wait a bit longer before eating more, but we didn't have ice cream at home, and going to get some to eat at home would have taken us farther out of our way than going to the Washtenaw Dairy did. The Washtenaw Dairy gives large servings of ice cream. We all had single scoops, in cups, and I think we all had more than we really wanted (or maybe it was just me).

When we got home, we put on The Avengers as that was what the girls could agree on. Both girls took showers while the movie was playing. I went to bed before the movie ended because I was tired and because I knew I'd have to be up early this morning. Scott's sister is coming at 10:45 to pick up her daughter on the way to Adrian to pick up her son from band camp.

Back when I could eat at ice cream stores, I used to ask if it was okay for a grownup to order a kid's portion. Some stores would, others wouldn't. But it was much closer to the actual amount of ice cream that I wanted to eat, so when they were okay with it, that worked out well for me.
