Scott slept most of Saturday. Sunday, we made it out to the library (Scott stayed in the car, and Cordelia and I hurried) and for groceries. That was as much as he could do.
Today, we ventured further, out to Briarwood. I now know my size in Land's End swimsuit tops. I still don't know my size in swimsuit bottoms with certainty. I can guess based on the way the largest size they had, a 22, failed to fit that a 24 would probably fit. I could pull up the 22. It was simply very uncomfortable. We bought two dresses for Cordelia on sale and at least a size too large (they're almost to her ankles). I'm putting one aside for her to wear to the wedding in August. Scott got swim trunks and a shirt on sale.
We also discovered that we needed an appointment at the Mac repair place. Scott's due to go back tomorrow if he can still stand after work.
I've been poking unenthusiastically at the Land's End website. Most of the colors I like are sold out in my size, and most of the remaining prints are really ugly, IMO. I don't really want to spend $100+ on this, especially without trying anything on. I don't have time enough to return anything before the trip, not and get a replacement. I don't have money enough to buy multiple items in order to try all the sizes. I mean, if I order online, what do I do if a 24 doesn't fit? I'm not willing to buy two $50 bottoms (and that's the mid-range on prices).
I think I'll hold off on buying from Land's End until after I have a chance to try Sunny J's. That may decrease my choices further, but the possibility of actually getting to try on a suit to be sure it fits seems worth that risk. evalerie has offered to drive me to Plymouth, so I'm going to gamble.
We did tick two other minor errands off the list while we were out. The car now has most of a tank of gas, and I have a second pair of support socks. They may be too big, but I'm suspecting that they simply don't exist in a smaller size. I wish I could remember the exact size I bought the first time. The socks are 'Large, 8-10' while my feet are between 7 and 7.5, depending on the shoe. I thought I'd bought socks in my size, but two trips to different stores has failed to turn up such a mythical beast, and the new pair looks to be approximately the same length, toe to heel, as the old pair.
Time to go make a phone call to see how tomorrow looks. I need to pin down one bit of scheduling in order to figure out when I can take evalerie up on her offer.
