Sep. 22nd, 2014 08:12 amYesterday, we went to the library a little after noon. The surface lot was blocked off and filled with a stage and some tables. Scott said he saw a sign saying 'Concert for Peace' somewhere around there, but I didn't see it. There was almost nobody there, probably because the weather was threatening rain (which started about ten minutes after we left the library).
I didn't get any CDs this week because I want to focus on watching my current Netflix DVD. I've had it for several weeks, and I do want to watch it. It's been easier, though, to put in CDs and forget about the DVD. Almost all of the books I got were graphic novels. The one exception is a Rainbow Magic book in Spanish. Once I read that, I'll have gone through all the books in the series that the library has in Spanish. Maybe I'll get the other books in the series out again. I doubt I've really learned the words that I looked up while reading them.
We went for bubble tea as usual. I had a tiki tea which is half milk tea and half coffee. I don't remember what flavor I had because I couldn't taste anything but the coffee. There was enough milk and sugar involved that the whole thing tasted a lot like coffee ice cream.
After that, I did laundry while Scott did the grocery shopping. I think I had the better end of the deal because laundry is a few minutes of activity spaced out over hours of not needing to do anything at all.
A little after four, we got in the car and went to the sporting goods store where we'd bought Cordelia's soccer shoes. Scott returned the size 7s while Cordelia and I went to look for larger shoes. There wasn't anything that wasn't about twice what we'd paid for the 7s. Cordelia tried on a 7.5 which was too small. Her toes were all the way to the end. We'd made her bring her shin guards so that she could try the shoes on with them on. The size 8s she tried fit, and we bought them. I don't think they'll stand out on the softball field, but I suppose I can't have everything.
Cordelia retreated to her room after dinner (well, before dinner, too), so Scott and I watched Doctor Who and an episode of Burn Notice. I don't have strong opinions on either. They're both things I watch because Scott's interested rather than because I particularly care.
I'm considering buying an e-book. I'd call it the first e-book I've considered buying, but that would be quite true. I've bought e-books by Mark Oshiro (Mark Watches and Mark Reads). Somehow, this feels different. I don't know why. I'm not entirely sure why I'm hesitating. This is a book that, if I saw it in the store, I'd buy with no question, so I'm not sure why I hesitate over an e-book version (it's only available as an e-book). Admittedly, I haven't touched my e-reader in a few weeks; I've been too intimidated by the realization that I'm a tenth of the way through a 2000 page fanfic. I want to finish that fic because it's good, but at the same time, I don't want to devote the time that it will require.

The link should work even if you are not a Facebook user.
