We stayed in, mostly, yesterday, only venturing out to go to the library. Cordelia refused to pick out a new book on the grounds that she's still working on the one she has currently. Given that that book is new to her, I decided to allow it. The book in question is a sequel to a book she liked, so she hasn't ventured very far afield yet.

I did have to make Cordelia change her pants yesterday. She was all set to wear the same pants for a third day in spite of all the new pairs we'd bought.

Scott seemed to be doing better. A couple of days with plenty of sleep helped. Unfortunately, he's not going to get much time to sleep this week. He'll have a couple of go in early days, and he's going to try to get them early in the week so as not to run into UCon.

Scott did some outdoor work yesterday, filling the compost bin with leaves, caulking something or another, and making sure the hose was disconnected and (I hope) drained.

I got the cards for the LARP done and sorted. The glue for the double sided cards isn't holding very well, but hopefully, it will suffice. Now I just need to study the game. I've been putting that off in the same way I've been putting off starting to write my Yuletide story. Both of those things are on the agenda for today. I also have DVDs to watch and books to read.

I do that a lot. I wash my clothes, but I wear old clothes even when I just bought nice new things. It feels like I ought to save the new ones for something special and not wear them out faster than necessary. Cordelia's reasoning may be somewhat different, because you may be protecting her from concerns about spending money on new clothes (though she still doesn't want to go shopping more often than absolutely necessary, because clothes-shopping is unpleasant for her.) And it's just as ridiculous for her as for me, because half the time my size/shape changes before I wear out those clothes I am being so careful with. Though girl-clothes wear out awfully fast, as do my favorite fuzzy sweaters and corduroy jeans.

Boys' clothes do tend to be a lot more durable. They also tend to have things like longer shirttails and higher waistbands, which avoids the problem of exposing the small of the back. Considering that neither you nor Cordelia like going to stores, and you're concerned that she might be uncomfortable shopping in the boys' department, you might want to order online.

(That's the school-uniform style of twill pants for a kid without much in the way of hips. They also have skinny jeans, which look more like what girls wear. And pleated twill pants, if Cordelia's hips are significantly bigger than her waist. Around here, when girls wear school uniforms with pants, they're plain, dark pants that come up to the waist, quite a bit looser than leggings, not very different from the boys style.)
