The book room inventory at the school is on hold right now. Today, I was supposed to work from nine until noon with part of that being a training in what to do for the next step of the process, but they're doing IEPs in there all morning. We had to have the training in the teachers' lounge. I was signed up for all of Friday morning, too, but the room will be in use all day Friday (and Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) for hearing and vision testing.

We have two more sections to inventory. Then we have to start alphabetizing and labeling and shifting the shelves around. The inventory can, in theory, be done elsewhere simply by carrying all of the remaining bins to the teachers' lounge. The sorting and labeling and shifting of shelves pretty much has to be done in the book room, however. It all sounds fairly complicated. Hopefully, once I've done it a bit, I'll find it straightforward.

We were hoping to be done with the project before Thanksgiving, but that looks very unlikely.

The office is going to start keeping a schedule for the book room. People have just been assuming that it's available, and it goes to whoever gets there first (or whoever has the most status which definitely isn't us parent volunteers). This is a side effect of the school being so full now. In years past, there were plenty of rooms where people could work or have meetings. Now not so much.
