Nov. 29th, 2014 07:51 pmWe didn't do much at all yesterday. Scott cleaned out his closet, weeding out the clothes he can't or doesn't wear. He's got a huge pile of stuff to get rid of.
In the evening, I tried to talk Cordelia into watching a Jackie Chan movie. She rejected the ones I suggested as being 'too old,' so I decided to try Singin' in the Rain instead, just to show her what old means. She agreed to give it half an hour and counted down the minutes until she could tell me to turn it off. At the half hour mark, she decided that we should watch The Avengers. We hadn't done that since we got our blu-ray player, so we tried the blu-ray. I don't actually see any difference between blu-ray and a normal DVD, but Scott assures me there is a difference.
This morning, we lazed in bed. Neither Scott nor I had slept well, so we were reluctant to admit that we were up. Scott wrapped presents for both birthday parties we had to deal with and designed cards for both as well. He only managed to print one of the cards, however, before the print ran out of blue and yellow ink. We left for our niece's family party about half an hour after we should have.
We were still the first to arrive. Cordelia and Scott played peanut with Scott's sister and her daughter while her son and his friend set up to play Axis and Allies of some flavor or another. Scott ended up playing with them while the ladies played with other folks who'd just arrived. I read fic on my e-reader for as long as I could handle (my concentration is shot. I find it really hard to read anything for longer than about fifteen minutes).
We stayed until 5:00, just long enough to see our niece open her presents but not long enough for us to get any cake. We stopped at home so that Cordelia could get ready for her friend's party which started at 6:00. We dropped her off right on time (right as three other girls arrived) and went off to get dinner. We made a brief stop at Busch's to pick up an advent calendar. Cordelia may be too old for one now, but it's hard to tell, and I suspect she'll still enjoy having a piece of chocolate every day.
We ate at Palm Palace. We got our food quickly and were out of there by 7:00. We started out with hummos and bread (lots and lots of bread) and a garlic spread. Both of us had sandwiches with soup and rice. Neither of us finished our sandwich. Scott packed up his rice to bring home, too, but I didn't think the rice was worth my time, so I didn't. We got a baklava sampler to go.
