Scott actually had to go in early today. He knew he had to, so he was in bed by 8:00. At about 8:30, his work called to ask if he could come in early. The guy I talked to seemed utterly bewildered when I said that Scott was already coming in early and couldn't very well be there twice.

I did not have extra kids yesterday. Their mother had worked Monday night and was home all day yesterday. I have no idea when she slept. If I'd been her, I'd have been tempted to send the kids over here just so that I could get some rest. I wouldn't have minded.

Cordelia started rereading the Percy Jackson books. She wasn't pleased about doing that, though she enjoyed getting re-acquainted with The Lightning Thief. She complained about it. I pointed out that she has dozens of books on her shelves that she hasn't read, but she rejected all of them out of hand.

She watched some TV, some recorded episodes of Teen Titans Go! and, of all things, some competitive cooking shows. She decided that she really likes Cupcake Wars and Chopped.

I need to pin Scott down tonight-- Cordelia's Girl Scout troop leader is trying to get people to come over to her house Thursday evening to sort out cookies. I feel like Cordelia and I should go, but, as she lives on the other side of town, we can't go unless Scott goes. I've emailed him about it, but he's been so rushed that he hasn't really looked at his email.

I really have to wrap those books for my nephew today. I keep forgetting, and his birthday was 25 January, so they're getting later and later all the time. I just hate wrapping presents. I have to wrap Scott's birthday presents, too, but I have until the 24th to do that. Unfortunately, one of the things I ordered for him is back ordered, so I don't think it's going to come in before his birthday.

I've done Sit and Be Fit both days so far this week. Hopefully, I can manage it the rest of the week. That's my goal, anyway. I can do it on Thursdays during February since our cleaning lady won't be coming. Normally, I can't do it on Thursdays because she's cleaning the room with the TV right about then.

I'm feeling optimistic about writing today. I didn't do any yesterday, but I have a couple of ideas for what to do next in two of the things I've been working on. One of the two is a little difficult because I suspect that what I want to write will veer into explicit territory when the rest of the fic (thirty or forty pages) has nothing explicit. It's definitely an M rating, but it hasn't needed explicit sex because that hasn't really fit the story at all. I suppose I shouldn't worry about it. It's not like I've been posting it and suddenly need to change the rating.

Now I just have to shower and get dressed. It's chilly enough in here that I don't much want to shower. I hate having wet hair so very, very much. But I can't put off showering until tomorrow. On Thursdays, I don't have time for both a shower and a cup of coffee, and I'd rather not trade one for the other.

I really need to re-read the Percy Jackson books. ^^;; I liked the first five more than the sequel five, to be honest. Has Cordelia read the Kane Chronicles? Same author, Egyptian mythology.

I'm just curious if he'll make it interesting. For some reason, Norse mythology is the one mythology I've never been able to get into. It's perilously boring to me and I have no idea why. ^^;;

Since you've been mentioning "The Body Electric," the song by that name from the movie Fame has been stuck in my head. I keep thinking in particular of the line, "I sing to my own reunion, when I become one with the Earth." I'm pretty sure that the whole song comes straight from a Walt Whitman poem with the same name. Anyway, whoever wrote it, it is a strange thing to say.
