Scott and Cordelia went out yesterday to Book Bound to buy a gift certificate for a friend's birthday party Cordelia will attend on Friday. It will be a slumber party. Unfortunately, Scott has to work early the next day, so we won't really have the evening for ourselves.

Cordelia also bought a copy of The Hunger Games. I think she wants to get the whole series. She'll have to save up money to get the rest. We keep forgetting to give her her allowance. She never asks for it, either. I'm not sure how much we owe her at this point-- She gets $2.75 every Friday when we all remember.

I woke up around 3:15 with a headache. I took Amerge about 5:00. I'm surprised it didn't help much-- This feels like a classic migraine. It's all on one side of my head, and I'm feeling nausea. I'm going to take some naproxen once I'm able to eat in another ten minutes (I have to wait thirty minutes after taking my morning meds). I still need to shower, but I may go back to bed after that, depending on whether or not the naproxen helps.

I wrote about 350 words yesterday. I'm not entirely pleased with them. I think I have too many characters in the scene (five of them), but they all need to be there for the story to work, so I'll have to figure it out. I suppose, for the rough draft, I could just rotate through them over and over and then, in editing, pull out all the stuff that doesn't move the scene forward.

I did a little [community profile] metanews work yesterday. I have an appointment on Tuesday during the time when I would normally link find for the newsletter. I'm hoping to get ahead of that enough that there isn't very much to do on Tuesday.

We used to keep a piece of paper on the fridge and write the date on it when our kids earned an allowance, so then we could add up the dates on the list and figure out how much allowance money we owed them, and we could make sure that we didn't miss a week. But we would sometimes get a year behind on giving allowance money, so eventually that got unwieldy. So then I put everything in a spreadsheet. It automatically calculates how much allowance money each kid has saved up, and it automatically adds in each new week's allowance. It even knows to give them a raise each time they get a year older. Plus it's in Google Docs, so we can view it from any computer or other device that is connected to the Internet. So that is working well for us. For whatever that's worth.
