the_rckCordelia went to a slumber party last night. We dropped her off at six and then went out for dinner. Neither Scott nor I had a really strong preference as to where we should eat, so we ended up at a salad place that Scott has been wanting to try for over a year. We were not impressed. I ordered an Asian salad which was supposed to have almonds on it. The guy who made the salad put walnuts-- which I'm allergic to-- in instead. He never asked me about it, so I was pretty shocked when I started eating and found a walnut. I think I managed not to eat any walnuts, but it was annoying.
After dinner, we went to Kroger to get some cheesecake and to fill a prescription for me. I wasn't sure when else we'd have the opportunity to get to the pharmacy, so I was glad of the chance.
Scott had to be ready to go in to work at 3 a.m. this morning, so he went to bed around 8:30. I stayed up a couple of hours longer and worked on editing some fic fragments. I'm by no means done, but I'm getting there. I'm not sure I want to post another WIP, though, and I don't know how long it would take me to get to some sort of end point.
Scott's work called a little after 11:00 to say that they didn't need him to come in after all.
This morning, Scott and I got up about 8:00 and went to Cafe Marie for breakfast. Scott had an omelet while I had pancakes. I'm not as enthusiastic about Cafe Marie for breakfast as I am for lunch because there are only a handful of things on the breakfast menu that I can eat.
After breakfast, we called to find out when we were supposed to pick Cordelia up. We neglected to ask last night. We had an hour, so we did the grocery shopping.
The weather is terrible-- serious blowing snow and very cold. By the time we got home this morning, we couldn't see the tracks where we'd pulled out on our way to breakfast. Fortunately, the Girl Scout troop leader got the okay from the store where the cookie booth will be to set up inside. I don't think we'll sell many cookies because people aren't going to be out today unless they absolutely have to be, but at least we won't hurt ourselves with the cold. I was really concerned about that.

Date: 2015-02-14 11:43 pm (UTC)Still a slumber party is progress. She says her main fear was that one of the cats would lie down on her face while she was sleeping. One apparently did lie down on her legs, making her uncomfortable.

Date: 2015-02-14 11:41 pm (UTC)In the nearly two hours we were there, I think the girls sold about forty boxes. There weren't a lot of people coming through, and most weren't interested.
We were right by the exit, though, so that, every time someone went out the door, we got blasted by frigid air.
