I woke up with a headache again this morning. I don't know what's going on with that. It's not as bad as yesterday, so, as soon as I can eat (I have a medication that I need to take thirty minutes before my first food in the morning), I'll take naproxen and see what that does.

We didn't end up going to the library yesterday, so we'll have to go tonight or give up on my interlibrary loan book. I am concerned, too, about a hold I have that's been listed as 'in transit' for about a week. Usually, in transit items arrive within a day, two at the most. It's not anything I want particularly badly (a movie soundtrack from the 1980s), but I don't like having it pending like that.

Cordelia wants to do something exciting, but neither of us have any ideas what that might be. It's simply too cold outside to leave the house on foot. She's been coming to me a lot for hugs the last couple of days which is both nice and disconcerting. I expect she'll outgrow hugs and cuddles soon, so I'm trying to enjoy them while I've got them.

Cordelia has expressed interest in acquiring some pajamas. The ones she has are apparently too small. She never really wore them, though, so I don't know. Most of the time, she just wears whatever she wore during the day to bed at night. Maybe we'll have time for shopping this weekend. I hope so, anyway.

I'm not sure if Scott's going in early tomorrow or not. I do know that he's scheduled Monday and Tuesday off from work (Tuesday is his birthday) so we'll have quite a long weekend. Cordelia will be back at school on Monday, but Scott and I will have some time.

Ideas for things to do without going anywhere:

* Make maple syrup "snow candy" a la Laura Ingalls Wilder.
* Boil a pot of water, then throw the water up in the air outdoors. Supposedly it turns into snow as it falls. Just be careful of the wind and air currents so that boiling water doesn't land on you or anybody else.
* Put water and some food coloring inside water balloons. Leave them outside until they freeze. Then peel off the balloons and you have colored ice balls.

I haven't tried any of these (maybe the boiling water, but if I did it wasn't memorable), so this isn't a very strong recommendation for any of them. Then there's always baking.....

I hope your headache is better by now!

We have lots of family members who sleep in their clothes. But I try to have at least one set of presentable pajamas for each kid so that they can wear them to Pajama Day at school or for sleepovers. For whatever that's worth.
