the_rckWe made it to the library last night and picked up my interlibrary loan book. It was about 8:00 by the time we headed that way. Fortunately, the library is open until 9:00 on weeknights. Cordelia returned two books, but I chose to wait to return mine until Sunday (I didn't want to fuss with trying to find everything that I was ready to take back).
I've mostly been writing during the last twenty-four hours or so. I'm working on still another project that isn't likely to be posted soon. I am a little disconcerted-- I thought I was heading for a happy fun sex scene, but then plot happened that changed everything so that the consent became dubious. I hadn't expected what came up. It makes perfect sense with the characters and the way the story has flowed so far. It just came out of left field. I didn't see it coming until I wrote it. I both like and dislike when that happens.
We lost power for about fifteen minutes yesterday. I didn't realize that was what it was at first because I didn't have anything on but the laptop. I just knew that we'd lost the internet. The weather was completely clear, so I have no idea what took out the power. I'm just glad it didn't stay out longer. We'd have gotten cold. Cordelia's friends from down the street report that they lost power, too, so it wasn't just us.
I'm probably going to have to return the DVD I've got from the library unwatched. It's due tomorrow, and I can't renew it. I probably could watch it now, but I want very much to keep writing while the words are flowing, and I'm not sure Cordelia would let me get away with it. She has friends over right now, but I don't know how long she'll be occupied.
Scott had to be ready to go into work early this morning, but when he got up at 2:00 and called in, they said they didn't need him after all. We'd been hoping that they'd call us around 11:00 if they didn't need him, and they didn't, so he was pretty much expecting to have to go in.
I forgot to reset my alarm clock, so I thought it was a lot earlier than it was when I woke up-- It was almost 10:00, but my clock said 6:39. I was a little puzzled by how much light was coming in. I still haven't reset the dratted thing. I'll go do that after I post this.
