Scott and I went out for lunch yesterday. We tried a new-ish place that specializes in grilled cheese sandwiches. It was okay, but the sandwiches were fancier than what I wanted-- I just wanted a lot of cheese on bread. I had an apple honey grilled cheese sandwich. Scott has something with chicken. Both of us also got some mac and cheese and a coke.

Scott tried to set us up with a different DSL service yesterday. He's not entirely happy with Earthlink's speed. Unfortunately, he can't find a service he likes that can provide us with a static IP address, and we need that for our webserver.

There's also some difficulty with our car. It needs a repair that's going to cost over $1000, and Scott's not sure it's worthwhile given that we had the same repair done in 2013. Then again, he's not sure he wants to commit us to another loan in order to replace our current car.

It's Scott's birthday today. He's forty nine. That hardly seems possible. I'm going to bake his cake as soon as I post this. Well, maybe I'll wait a little. I'm not sure what we're doing for lunch. Going out seems unlikely when we did it yesterday and will go out again tonight for dinner, but who knows?

I finished chapter four of Auguries of Innocence. It ends with a kind of a cliffhanger, and I'm completely unsure of what comes next. I've been alternating chapters with different points of view, but I'm not sure I shouldn't break that in order to stay with my point of view character from chapter four. All of the characters in chapter four are in over their heads. It just takes them a while to realize that.

Cordelia had two programs to record last night at 8:00, so I didn't get Antiques Roadshow. I regret that, but it's not really a big deal. She wanted to record the last episode of the Kids' Baking Challenge, and she wanted to record The Voice. Scott and I are doomed to watching The Voice for many weeks to come. It'll make watching our Tuesday evening shows difficult.

Hi there! I noticed the bit about the static IP. You might want to separate your concerns hosting your website from your concern about getting home internet.

I'd recommend a hosting service for your website. You won't need to worry about static IPs or hardware anymore. You can get a very basic plan from hostgator or godaddy for about $4 per month if you buy in a large chunk, and it'll probably save you money on your DSL. I use hostgator. http://www.hostgator.com/shared-compare

It occurs to me that I could host a site for you if all you need is FTP access or a wordpress install.
