I did no writing yesterday. I simply wasn't sure where to start with any of my projects. Today, I think I have a starting point for the next chapter of my Harry Potter AU, so I'll try that.

I checked under the couch for the missing library CD. I didn't find it, but I did find the remote for the blu-ray player (we don't use that often enough to have noticed it was missing). I think I may end up having to pay for the dratted thing, and it wasn't even a CD I particularly liked (the songs were depressing). The library lets patrons have a certain number of free passes in terms of claiming to have returned things, but I think I've used all of mine. I will drop them a line, asking them to look for the CD just in case it got shelved without getting checked in or something like that.

We went out for dinner last night to the California Pizza Kitchen. The PTO has a once a month deal there where a portion of the bill gets donated to the PTO if we use a particular coupon. I had a pasta dish with thinly sliced zucchini ribbons (lots of them), a few shrimp, and some fettucine. There was a sharp flavor to it that I didn't entirely enjoy. It wasn't terrible; it just wasn't wonderful. I also had a cup of potato soup. Cordelia had some sort of garlic fettucine, and Scott had a barbecue chicken pizza.

I've got to start paying better attention to the time after I go to bed-- I usually read in bed for a little while before I turn out the light, but my goal is to turn out the light around 11:00. I've been pushing that quite a bit the last week or so. Some of that is knowing that I don't have to get up most mornings, but some of it is simply not paying attention. When I stay up past 11:00, Scott does, too, even though he has to be up at 5:00, so I should be turning off the light so that he can get a little more sleep. Last night, it was after midnight when I turned off the light. That's not a good thing. At least, Scott got to sleep in until 7:00 this morning.

Right now, Scott's off getting his eyes checked. He took the day off of work for that. He's got a couple of other appointments later on, things having to do with the car. I suspect we'll go out for lunch, but nothing's certain given the other things he needs to do.

I'm going to focus on [community profile] metanews link finding after I post this. I'm hoping to be done with it relatively quickly because I would like to do some writing, too.

I didn't know that the library had a forgiveness rule on a number of lost items. I'm still being recorded as in possession of a Beethoven symphony CD, and I'm 90% sure I returned it, because I bought my own copy. Now that the warm weather is here I will have to dig in the car trunk, which is the last place the missing CD could be -- I only played the disc in the car -- and then maybe see what happens next.

Paying for the occasional lost library CD is still vastly cheaper than the amount of money I used to spend buying albums.

Honestly leaves me stuck with paying for the book the cat peed on. :-( So far I just keep renewing the book.
