I did eventually venture down into the basement yesterday, but I didn't do it until almost bedtime, and I didn't take my backpack. I grabbed three romances. Those should be light reading for a couple of days. Going down the stairs was harder than coming back up. The biggest problem seemed to be that the boot was too big for the steps.

Apart from that, I loaded and ran the dishwasher, and Scott and I watched a couple of episodes of Leverage, and Cordelia, Scott and I watched a couple of episodes of Star Wars Rebels.

Cordelia has Girl Scouts today. They'll be meeting early so that they can help with the food bank that's in the building where we usually meet. I won't be going because it would mean three hours on my feet. I told the troop leader I could go if I could sit, but she thought it was better for me to stay home.

Scott's going to be stuck doing the laundry for a while. I don't see any way that I could get up and down the basement stairs while carrying a load of laundry. If I have to, I can get the laundry downstairs by tossing it down the stairs, but I'd rather not do that. Someone (probably Scott) also has to go downstairs after more toilet paper. We've still got about 2/3 of a roll, so there's time, but it needs to be done soon.

I should check to see if Scott's awake. I need to shower, but I don't like to do that until he's awake because I can't actually get dressed until he's up. There's something no fun about hanging around, wet and naked, when it's this chilly. Scott has a tendency to lounge in bed, playing Kerbal Space Program. It looks like his laptop might be awake (I can see him in AIM), but that doesn't necessarily mean that he is because he doesn't always put it to sleep at night. I'll probably try pinging him on chat. Getting up and walking over there isn't something I want to do if I can avoid it, and if he is still sleeping, shouting will just wake him up.

The bruising on my foot looks a lot worse. I hope it starts to fade soon. My ankle is giving me more trouble at night than my foot is. I did wear a sock on my bad foot yesterday. Getting it on and off was a challenge, but I think it was a good idea. I think wearing a sock on that foot will keep the boot from feeling quite so nasty. I really dislike wearing shoes without socks.
