I think I've finished metanews link finding for the week. I ended up with eighteen links about the Hugos, and that's without really searching for them. That seems like too many, really, but each of them has a slightly (or very) different focus, so I'm not sure I should get rid of any of them. Still eighteen links seems like more than anybody's going to be interested in reading on the subject. I did move the last link I added so that it's the first listed because it has links to and excerpts from a number of sources I hadn't previously seen, including some from the Sad Puppies and the Rabid Puppies themselves. Following up on and posting those links seemed unnecessary given that they're all in one place on that post.

I've asked the other link finder for their opinion on the eighteen links, but I believe they're in Australia, so I probably won't hear anything back until tomorrow.

I am really hopeful that the new volunteers will be a big help. We've let AO3, Tumblr, and LJ slide for months now, so picking any of those up again would be wonderful. I'm also lobbying for one of them to take over half of the blog feed. I can't keep doing the whole thing plus Pinboard every week. I think, depending on the week, 50-80% of the links we post come from the blog feed.

I briefly peeked into the Rabbit Hole that is the Hugo awards and came away with two thoughts.

1) What the what?! and,
2) If these groups of people wanted any legitimacy, why did they choose a group name that involves puppies?!

Anyway, props to you for sifting through that mess. I would have back-buttoned the hell out of everything. ;p

Well, I didn't dig into the Sad Puppies/Rabid Puppies side of things at all. Pretty much all the links I came up with were from people who were appalled by or at least neutral about the whole thing. It seemed safer for my sanity to stick with that.
