I just did another [community profile] metanews post about the site that's been scraping and posting content. The whole thing is looking shadier and shadier by the moment-- The site appears to be part of a network of sites linked to a site known for stealing credit card information. The site has fic, journal articles, and professionally published books (or so it claims).

If you've ever posted anything anywhere, it's worth going over and searching your name/pseudonym to see if they have anything of yours. (Don't try to use the author index. It's not actually alphabetical, so it's fairly useless.) Some of the links at [community profile] metanews explain how to send them a take down notice. You do not have to reveal your legal name to do that, and you do not need a lawyer.

Their bots have hit multiple fanfic sites and many private websites as well. The stuff they took appears to be pretty random. They have four of my stories (out of fifty four posted on AO3) in four different fandoms, and none of them are particularly popular or well known.

ETA: My fics seem to be gone from the site in question. I'm glad of that. There's still a lot of questionable content there, however.
