the_rckWe stayed at the birthday party yesterday for about an hour. Cordelia originally hadn't wanted to come but decided she didn't want to be left at home alone, either. She brought a book but didn't read it at all (she said it was too noisy). There were about half a dozen people there while we were (though not always the same half dozen). One couple had brought their baby who's almost a year old and almost ready to start walking. Cordelia was really interested in the baby and said when we left that she was glad she'd come because, if she hadn't, wouldn't have had any time with the baby.
Scott got me and Cordelia home and left for the movie immediately. He'd allowed himself half an hour to get us home and then get himself to the theater. He really loved Age of Ultron. Cordelia insisted that he tell her in great detail what happened in the movie. I'm really more than a little puzzled that Cordelia didn't want to go herself.
While Scott was gone, Cordelia played with a younger girl who's around sometimes (her parents are divorced, and her father lives in our neighborhood). Then Cordelia went for a bike ride with some other friends. I'm not sure when they're moving away, but it'll be soon. The house they're renting is for sale, and I think their lease is up this month. Cordelia says she thinks she'll be willing to take the bus to visit them. I hope so.
It was nearly 7:00 when Scott called me to say that the movie was over. We knew it was too late for him to cook anything in time for me to eat it, so we decided that he'd pick something up on the way home. Fortunately, there's a KFC just a little bit out of the way, so that's what he got. They gave him a cake for free. Cordelia was kind of disappointed by that as she'd been hoping to go out for ice cream or fro-yo. (Scott offer fro-yo if she was willing to go grocery shopping with him, but she wasn't willing, and I pointed out that that wasn't precisely fair since I am currently unable to walk enough to go shopping.)
