May. 6th, 2015 11:49 amOh, I forgot to mention earlier-- I got the results of my blood tests last night. They sent them to me through the online patient portal. There are a few things that look borderline and that I don't know what they are. None of them are far off; usually, it's only one unit of measure, whether that's a one or a one tenth or whatever.
My cholesterol, blood sugar, lipids, and thyroid are all fine.
My vitamin D levels are seriously low. I expect my doctor will call me to tell me what sort of supplement I should start taking. Hopefully, it will be something Scott can find at the Kroger pharmacy when he picks up my prescriptions tonight.
And the spot where they drew the blood has a rather spectacular bruise.

Date: 2015-05-07 01:59 am (UTC)They tried me on OTC-level supplements first; hopefully that'll be all you'll need, rather than a prescription.

Date: 2015-05-07 03:44 pm (UTC)I did ask Scott to talk to the pharmacist to see what brand they recommended, but Scott is incapable of doing something like that-- I still remember him telling me, right after we got married, that, if you ask for directions, you lose-- so he just bought a brand that promised it was the best. I'm more than a little ticked with him over that. All brands of vitamins claim they're the best, but I know there are some that aren't particularly good at what they're supposed to do.

Date: 2015-05-06 04:40 pm (UTC)I already take a multivitamin with D and a calcium supplement with D, so I had assumed I was getting enough (combined, they come to more than the RDA), but apparently not.
