the_rckI wrote about 1500 words yesterday. I'm hoping to do more today and tomorrow. I mean, I probably should start in on writing up links for ![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
metanews, but I want to write fic instead.
Cordelia wants a birthday party, but she thinks it's too late to plan one. I'm going to try to pin her down today as to who she wants to invite. She did give us the impression that she wants to hang out with her friends more than she wants a party party.
Scott wants to go to Cafe Marie today. He wanted to go for breakfast, but when he finally emerged from bed, I'd been up for an hour and a half and had already eaten. Also, as I pointed out, Cordelia won't eat anything off of their breakfast menu but will eat their sandwiches. I expect it will be crowded as people try to get one last visit in before they close.
Scott turned out not to have to work today. He went to bed early because he had to be ready to go in at 3:00 a.m., but when he called at 2:00 to check, they told him he didn't have to go in. I wish they'd called at 11:00 to tell him that the way they usually do. I'm usually not asleep at that point (though I'm often in bed, but the phone is right next to my alarm clock, within easy reach).
I'm wearing the light brace more often now. I'm not entirely happy with the support it gives, and it presses in places I'd rather it didn't, but it's gotten warm enough that wearing the boot is miserable. I'm trying to alternate the brace and the boot, switching when one or the other becomes unbearable.
I really can't predict right now what things are going to hurt my foot. I think I'm getting better, but occasionally, I'll do something that was fine the last time I did it and find myself cursing because it hurts. It's also hard to find a good spot for my bad foot when I'm sitting at my computer table while wearing the brace. The feet of the table are pretty much right where I want to put my feet. I can do that with my good foot, not so much with the bad.
