Scott just got a call from the HR department of a place he sent a resume to. (One of his co-workers has a son who works there, and the co-worker thought Scott would be a good match for them.) I have no idea if anything will come of it, but I've got my fingers crossed.
Cordelia went to visit a school friend yesterday afternoon. The friend's mother called us. She wasn't sure she had the right phone number (the school never did a directory). My guess is that she searched for Ann Arbor phone numbers linked to Cordelia's last name and picked the one that had an address near the school, but I don't know. Scott and Cordelia's last name isn't particularly common, so I'd be surprised if there were more than two or three Ann Arbor numbers associated with it. (My name is so common that there are other people in town with whom I share both first and last name.)
It rained heavily yesterday, so I decided not to go to the library with Scott. I really didn't want to face the weather and the discomfort of a shoe over my ankle brace. I'd intended to go-- I think I need to get out of the house more. There aren't many opportunities for it, however, not unless I want to invent occasions.
This morning, I was awakened by my cell phone ringing. It was our dentist's office calling to remind me of an appointment for tomorrow that I never made. They thought I needed a filling. I pointed out that I haven't been in since January, and they checked my file to discover that, no, I don't need a filling. I wonder who really has that appointment tomorrow?
Feeding Cordelia this summer is going to be challenging. She would rather simply not eat than compromise and eat things she's tired of. Right now, she's thinking to have a bagel and yogurt for breakfast each day and a sandwich for lunch. That's more bread than I like and a lot less vegetables/fruit than I think she should have. I think I can get her to eat some form of fruit for lunch, too. I hope.
I'm debating signing up for another fic exchange later this summer. Right now, there are sign ups for two that I'd enjoy-- Fic Corner (an exchange for children's/YA literary fandoms) and NFE (the Narnia Fic Exchange). I might be able to do both, but I'd hate to gamble on it. I'm also torn-- I have several other things that I'd like to work on. I love exchanges because I reliably finish the stories I write for them and because they get me to write things I wouldn't have thought to otherwise, but I have at least a dozen other projects that won't go anywhere at all if I sign up for an exchange.

Date: 2015-06-16 04:04 pm (UTC)I also looked at Crossovering. I probably could have fun with that as I enjoy writing crossovers. I missed the nomination period, and none of the things that made it in are things I'm really enthusiastic about. I could write a lot of them and have fun with them. I just don't feel strongly about them.
I missed nominations for Fic Corner, too, but there are a number of canons I could comfortably write for. I have no idea at all what I'd ask for, but I suppose I'd come up with something.
Nominations for NFE are currently happening, and I'm dithering about them. I like writing Narnia quite a bit (and more Narnia fics make me a better candidate for Remix in that fandom). I just don't know.

Date: 2015-06-19 01:56 pm (UTC)I'm usually feeling pretty good if I can offer enough to get in - I've got some big buckets for Parallels and it's actually a nice surprise.
Coming up with requests is hardest for me. Especially for truly small fandoms where honestly, if there was new fic for it and I'm not the one who wrote it? OVER THE MOON, doesn't matter what it's about. ^^;;
