the_rckAnd I've discovered that I have no clean shorts. Cordelia just took a load of laundry downstairs, so I'll have something in another hour or two, but it's frustrating. I think that, last week, Scott did the laundry a day early, and combining that with doing it a day late this week means that my eight pairs of shorts are insufficient. Scott is of the opinion that I ought to have two weeks worth of shorts, but that seems ridiculous to me. I don't have space to store them, for one thing, and I don't really think it's generally that big a deal to do laundry the day before a trip so that I can pack clean clothes. (Scott likes to get everything packed several days in advance.)
Cordelia decided that walking to get bagels was too much trouble. I'm not sure why. I'm also not sure what she'll eat tomorrow for breakfast. She's dead set against eggs and/or oatmeal, and we're pretty much out of dry cereal. Oh, well, I suppose she can always go to the store tomorrow before breakfast.
Scott's mother has offered to take Cordelia Friday night. Now I just have to persuade Cordelia not to kick up a fuss about it.
Some folks from Cordelia's sixth grade (now seventh grade, I suppose) class are going to an outdoor movie tomorrow night. I told the organizer that we wouldn't go because it starts at 10 p.m. and Scott needs to be in bed at 11 p.m. Cordelia found out about it somehow and now wants me to see if I can find someone she knows and likes who's going and ask their family to give her a ride. This meant going through my email trash to find the relevant messages. We did find one possibility. I have to email the other family to ask, but they live near enough to us that we're pretty much on the way for them, so I'm hopeful.
