Scott's parents came over around 2:00 yesterday. I had expected them a bit earlier because I'd thought they'd want to leave by 3:30 in order to beat rush hour on their way home. Instead, they ended up sticking around until dinner time, and all five of us went to Applebee's. Scott's mother got a little frustrated because the thing she wanted to order wasn't clearly either GF or not GF. Neither she nor the waitress could come up with a reason why it wouldn't be, but the waitress was pretty much against taking the risk.

Scott's father mowed the lawn and did some pruning and I'm not sure what all. Scott's mother drafted Cordelia, and they worked on my raised beds. They didn't get rid of all of the weeds; the biggest raised bed still has one corner that's all weeds. They did manage to avoid pulling up my sage plants, but I think all the thyme and forget-me-nots went because they were in among thick weeds and really difficult to identify and leave be. Scott's mother planted something in the beds. She'd looked for coleus, but all she could find was very large and very expensive plants, and what we needed was a lot of little ones. She couldn't remember, when she talked to me, what she'd actually bought, just that it was something that shouldn't need much care.

My cousin got back to me with the address and phone number where Grandma is. It's about half an hour drive from where he lives and where his parents live but considerably closer to where my aunt and her husband live. I had emailed him to ask. Instead of emailing back, he texted me which made the address and phone number kind of challenging to read (because of the way they wrapped).

I also called my father to make sure he knew to use my cell number if he needed to reach me during the next week. He's had the number for years but often doesn't remember to use it. I did not tell him off. I kind of wanted to, but it wasn't worth the drama that would result. My father's nearly seventy. He's not going to suddenly stop being self centered just because I tell him to. It's far from a new development.

Scott's brother and his family arrived yesterday evening, and Scott's sister picked them up at the airport. I think some of them will ride to the rental house with Scott's parents and some with Scott's sister. It will probably be crowded, what with ten people (and their luggage!) to place in two cars, but Scott's sister and parents were quite adamant that Scott's brother not rent a car.

I got my clothes packed yesterday, but everything else had to wait for today, all except my bathing suit which I can't find at all. We still have to figure out a good staging area for the games and jigsaw puzzles we're taking so that they're all together and so that we can be sure we're not forgetting something we promised to bring. I think I've got all my meds and toiletries now. The one thing I can't find is the remainder of our hair bands. I don't like to go with just one, but the others have disappeared. Oh, well. I can almost certainly get Scott to pick up some more.

I haven't started packing up my entertainment stuff yet. We won't leave for several hours yet, so I don't see a point in depriving myself of my laptop right now. I should probably check to be sure that the charger cord I've got actually goes with my e-reader. I will want the e-reader badly if the internet where we're going isn't as good as advertised.

I should call my uncle and make sure that he has my cell phone number, just in case, but making phone calls is really, really hard. I wish I could just email him, but I don't know how often he actually checks that.

Now I'm going to see how many emails I can deal with before I need to pack up. I've got a lot of fic comments that I haven't responded to yet. Some of them are months old and from FFnet, and I'm not sure, at this point, if I should respond. I suspect that the people who commented won't remember what the story even was by this time.
