We have three showers and four toilets in this house, and I still had to wait ten minutes to get at a bathroom this morning. I should shower, but most of the other adults in the house did, and the last few didn't have hot water (though there was still hot water for the sinks. We're not sure why). I will probably do it some time this afternoon, just to get it done. I could wait for tomorrow morning, but then there will be everyone else wanting to shower again.

There's no kettle here, so I'm having to heat water for my coffee in the microwave. I don't like doing that because it's hard to get it to the right temperature. I did better this morning than yesterday, but it's still not ideal. Also, my mug holds two cups, and the pyrex cup that's safe to use in the microwave is just one cup, so it takes longer than I'd like.

I need to check with Scott to see when we're supposed to cook dinner and to make sure he's actually planned a meal and not just meat. Everybody's expecting two vegetables, a salad, and a starch in addition to the meat, and I'm not sure Scott's thought about any of that at all. Cooking meat is more difficult than we expected because one of the gas grills simply doesn't work. It has a full tank of propane, but it won't light. Also, it's raining a lot.

It rained from early morning yesterday until about 7 p.m. At that point, the lawn was too mushy for walking on it to be pleasant. The kids did lobby for swimming when the rain stopped, but none of the adults were willing. Most everybody is out swimming now. They've been trying to talk me into coming out and sitting beside the pool, but I'm not sure I want to. There are bugs, and I'd need sunscreen, and the wifi won't go that far.

We're expecting more rain soon. The forecast said thunderstorms after noon, and it has gotten gray and very, very windy. Scott says he's going to organize a Sentinels of the Multiverse game later, so I'll play in that. He doesn't like that I sit off to the side and don't participate much.

Unfortunately, it sounds like we'll have rain most of the week. People still plan to go to Cedar Point and the affiliated waterpark, but I'm not sure how well that will work. If it's just rain, it won't be so bad, but if there's any hint of lightning, everything shuts down entirely.

Our almost four year old niece adores Cordelia but is afraid of me and Scott. I'm not sure what the difference is. Cordelia is my height now, so it's not that she's smaller. Cordelia does enjoy spending time with the little one, though.

Hm. My email program claims I have an unread message in my inbox, but I can't find it. I guess it must be some sort of glitch. I wish Scott would find those Mountain Lion CDs so that we could update my OS. I can tell that things are getting glitchier as time goes on.

Scott's sister and parents made a run to Sam's Club yesterday. That's considerably farther away than the Kroger, and I likely wouldn't have bothered, but they thought it was worthwhile.

Our SIL consulted with a couple of breast cancer specialists she trusts and says that they agree that the treatment my sister is getting is the right course based on the technical diagnostic information my sister gave me. (I hadn't remembered it, even though she'd told me before, because none of it connects to any knowledge I already have. It's pure medicalese.)
