The mail never did come today, and that worries me. The message from the USPS very clearly said that the mail would come today and that the carrier would deliver it to us. I'm not sure what to do about it-- The message didn't give any mechanism for contacting them if there was a problem. Also, we can't be home for a considerable chunk of the day tomorrow, so we don't want them to deliver the mail then (well, apart from really, really wanting the mail) because it will not fit in the mailbox. Scott's father will be around for part of the time we're gone, but he'll be in the back yard, so he's unlikely to notice someone at the front door.

Scott ended up not going to the movie so that I could actually lie down for a little while. I think he completely spaced out on the fact that I needed to sleep until I pointed it out again. The whole thing was very, very frustrating. I didn't get to lie down until after 3.

I was really hoping I'd manage to get a shower in some time today, but I was so exhausted that, when Scott was finally willing to take over, I really needed to lie down more than I needed to be clean. I still want to change the sheets on our bed, but it may not happen today because Scott's out running errands and refuses adamantly to change the sheets after 9 p.m. Apparently, being asked to spend five minutes helping change the sheets is a huge imposition.

The sports coach for Cordelia's school got back to me. The school district did not. The coach managed to find a form for high school athletes. It's not the form we would normally use for middle school sports, but she said she'd accept it. I have to fill out our part of it tonight. The dratted thing is a lot longer and more detailed than the middle school form.

Tomorrow morning when they open, you or Scott should call your local post office. You can get the number from the USPS. Explain the situation, ask about it, and you can probably either reschedule the mail drop-off, or arrange to pick it up at the post office if that's easier.
