We found the booklet with the post-operative exercises I'm supposed to do. I've done the mobility set now, but I'm holding off on the strengthening ones because the flexibility ones made things hurt that hadn't hurt before. I think I'll work my way up to that.

We watched a bunch of episodes of Arrow last night. I'm still eh on the show, but it's the right sort of mindless for me for right now.

I slept for about ten hours last night. I ended up taking my painkiller at the same time as my thyroid medication again. That's likely to happen often, I suspect, because I don't realize how much I hurt until I move.

I'm trying to figure out what to put on this week's grocery list. I want things that are easy to open and that don't need much preparation. I'm kind of tired of granola bars, but I can't think of much else.

I still haven't talked to my father. I left a message for him, so he should know that I'm capable of talking.

Some time this afternoon, I'll take off this compression thingy and see what's underneath. I think we need to change the bandages, but I need to check with Scott. I was very foggy when they went over the post-op instructions. I don't even know what Scott did with them which seems like something I ought to change.

Glad you've come through the surgery part well, and best wishes to you for a good pathology report and uncomplicated recovery.

I was so glad to get Scott's email.

I don't know where you are with Arrow but I felt it got better as it went along, so it might improve for you too. Though there are some bits I'm still a little eh on myself. But it has one of my fannish loves so I keep watching :)

I would say it definitely gets better - probably about halfway through that season. Though I have to admit Season 3 is my favourite.

Kendra just came back from a camping trip where we sent a bunch of non-refrigerated no-preparation foods. She had mostly Amy's brand soups, which come in a can with a pull-tab on the lid, so if you are okay with eating room temperature food, you can just pull off the lid and eat the soup straight from the can. There are also some soup boxes that work that way -- you pull off a strip of material from the top and then can eat right out of a one-serving box. There are also Indian foods that come in a pouch -- but I think you might run into problems with pepper in those. So maybe some of those things would make for easy eating. I think there may also be pre-made macaroni and cheese, but I haven't paid much attention to that since I don't eat it.

For whatever it's worth: I take my thyroid medication at a random time of the morning, usually without food but sometimes together with food, and I never notice any difference. So I think taking it with your pain medication is okay.

Hm. In that case I wonder if some type of easy-to-open TV dinner would work. Or if a family member could put food into bowls in the fridge for you, so that you could heat it up later, with no opening needed.

Hm.
