Oct. 6th, 2015 12:50 pmThe nurse I saw said that there's definitely something going on. She has no idea why Sudafed might have helped, but she said I might as well keep taking it. She prescribed an antibiotic for me, just in case, and she recommended that I wait for my flu shot until I'm done with antibiotics and no longer have a cold. She said that it would be preferable to get my flu shot before I start radiation but that, given how things are at the moment, during radiation would be better than right now.
I'm to eat high protein and to drink lots of water. The latter part is easier than the former. I've been kind of reluctant to eat the last four or so days. I'm not sure how much of that is the cold and how much is something else.
I'm pretty sure that the Tylenol I've been taking is doing nothing at all. I forgot a dose yesterday afternoon and didn't notice any change in pain levels at all. I'm not sure if that means I should stop taking it altogether or not. Medical folks don't like it if I complain of pain and am not taking it, but... It's not actually doing anything. The only time I've ever noticed it helping with pain is when I take it for a sore throat. I don't know why it would work then and not otherwise, but it doesn't.
