Oct. 25th, 2015 10:56 amWe got our flu shots yesterday afternoon. The most time consuming part was filling out the forms. The shot didn’t hurt at all. I don’t know if it was that the pharmacist was skilled or if it was that this year’s shot isn’t very painful.
Cordelia almost refused to go, up until Scott made it clear that he’d throw her over his shoulder and carry her. (I’m not sure how much he was bluffing on that.)
We spent a little time looking at the available shampoos to see if we could spot anything unscented, but we saw nothing of the sort.
We went for frozen yogurt after that even though it was about 4:30. Scott got a bunch of fruit flavors. Cordelia got cheesecake flavor and pumpkin spice flavor. I got chocolate strawberry and pumpkin spice. Cordelia and I both thought the pumpkin spice tasted like coffee, so we’re wondering if they mixed up the signs and what we ended up with was the coffee flavor.
We had sweet potatoes that we planned to roast for dinner. Unfortunately, one of the three had gone completely bad. Looking at it, I think it must have been in terrible condition when Scott bought it. If there was one thing about Scott’s shopping habits that I could change, I’d get him to actually look at the produce before he buys it. This is an issue with apples, too.
I’ve been trying Aquaphor on the back of my hand. It sometimes itches and burns and sometimes doesn’t. The skin doesn’t seem to have changed in any way, so I don’t know. The doctor asked me to bring in the stuff I usually use for her to look over when I see her on Thursday, just in case any of it might be acceptable. I’m hoping that the Aveeno baby lotion will be. It’s unscented, at least, and that’s in its favor.

Date: 2015-10-25 03:24 pm (UTC)I will note that lather isn't needed to clean - it's added just to make you feel like it's "sudsing up" but it's not what does the cleaning as I understand it.

It's a bar shampoo, not a liquid. I find them kind of weird to use and mostly only use for travel, but it is unscented.

Date: 2015-10-26 06:24 pm (UTC)My problem with the Whole Foods house brand shampoo isn't so much that it doesn't matter as that my hair sort of swallows it up. I can't seem to get it to spread around from wherever I first apply it, so I end up using a lot more than I would otherwise. I also really can't feel it on my hair (my hair ends up feeling sort of odd and harder to move my fingers over as if there wasn't even water there let alone anything else) and so can't tell where I've already applied it.

Date: 2015-10-26 04:23 am (UTC)Is there an Ulta or Empire Beauty Supply near you? Their selection of shampoo is probably wider than the drug store's and you can call ahead to see if they have what you want. They also might be able to help on the skin are front, too.

Date: 2015-10-26 04:43 am (UTC)Ulta actually is in my area (it seems to be a bunch of hair salons with wildly different names), but the only unscented shampoo they've got is $15 for eight ounces. I think I'd rather keep using the Whole Foods stuff which is less than $4 for a twelve ounce bottle.
