the_rckScott’s sister picked me up about 11:40, and we went to the bank so that I could transfer money from Cordelia’s account to our checking to cover the down payment on the car. While I was in the bank, Scott’s sister got carryout from a nearby Middle Eastern restaurant. Scott and I like that particular place, but service has always been really, really slow at dinner time, so I wasn’t sure it was a good option. Still, she came back with food only a couple of minutes after I finished my business at the bank.
We ate in the parking lot at the radiation center and then went inside. I had an alarm set for 1:45 so that I would know when I absolutely had to leave, but the treatment went smoothly, and I was out of there by about 1:15.
I picked Cordelia up from school about 2:30. The folks in the office insisted on giving me a volunteers-are-great bookmark even though I haven’t volunteered at all this year. The first cab company I called said it would take them over an hour to arrive, so I tried the other company. They were able to be there in less than twenty minutes.
Scott picked us up after the appointment. He had just enough time after that to shower before he needed to pick up the friend who’d been loaning us a car to take her to retrieve it. (One of her kids had something scheduled in that general vicinity at a particular time, so timing mattered.)
I ended up lying down for a couple of hours while Scott was out. I don’t think I slept, but it helped anyway. We didn’t do much in the evening until around 9:30 when Scott half jokingly suggested going to IHOP for pancakes. Cordelia and I liked the idea, so we went. I had cinnamon pancakes. I worried a bit that they would give me problems, but they turned out to be mostly okay after I went to bed. They also gave me a couple of hours of real wakefulness.
The IHOP is right next to a Meijer’s, so Scott and Cordelia went in and picked up some Halloween candy. I thought about going in, too, but I really didn’t feel up to it.
I’ve already napped once today, and I wouldn’t be surprised if I do so again. I’m just so utterly exhausted that even getting up to refill my water bottle seems like too much effort. I need to do it because I’m way behind on water for today.
