I lay down about 8:30 yesterday morning and got up again about 10:45. I dreamed during the last half an hour or so, so I know I did actually sleep a bit. The kids prepared their own lunch, fortunately, because it needed to be heated on the stove. I really wasn’t up to it.

Today’s lunch, as sent by the other kids’ parents, is chicken patties. Those work better in the oven but are perfectly fine if microwaved. I’ll let the kids decide which way they want to do it.

The cab going to my appointment arrived quickly, so I had about forty minutes to wait before it made sense to check in and change. When I have that long to wait, I prefer to sit out in the big waiting room and only put on the gown when it’s close to my appointment time. In this case, it’s definitely a good thing I did that because they were having equipment problems and running late. I think they took me back fifteen minutes after my appointment time. It ended up being a very long session, too, but these folks listened when I said things hurt.

The kids took the bus out to the two strip malls near the Kroger. Their goal was the frozen yogurt place, but as it turned out, they got there before it opened (even though they missed the first bus and had to wait an extra half an hour). They ended up crossing the street and going to an Asian grocery store to buy snacks/candy. They got the fro-yo, too, eventually, and were home before I was.

The cab home only took about ten minutes to arrive. Before I called for it, I picked up my parking permit for the month. That surprised me— They want me to go in on Sunday the 8th because they’re not going to be doing treatment on Friday the 13th, something about maintenance. That would have been nice to know sooner. I find it very frustrating that I can’t go online anywhere online to check my appointment schedule with them. Every other clinic in the system puts that online where the patients can look it up.

Cordelia did two loads of laundry yesterday, but there are still two left. She eventually emptied the dishwasher (when I told her to, Scott thought I was telling him to do it and got annoyed with me because he was in the middle of cooking dinner). I’m trying to decide if it’s worth the energy to put away some of my laundry. Getting a basket out of the living room would be really nice, but there are four baskets of clothes, and I can only do something with one, maybe two of them.

The ACS called yesterday to let me know that they haven’t been able to find any volunteers for this week at all. They’ve got someone who can do the 17th, the 18th, the 23rd, and the 24th. Those were all days I had covered already, though. I really don’t know.

I’m tempted to lie down again this morning. I’m not exactly tired, not mentally, but my body’s feeling achy and slow. It may be just as well to do it while I’ve got time.
