Nov. 18th, 2015 04:53 pmWTF? Somebody has parked in our driveway. Scott came home to find the driveway occupied. He was able to pull in behind the other car, but we have no idea at all whose car it might be. If our neighbor needed parking, she’d tell us. Cordelia’s friend’s parents sometimes park in our driveway for school things, but they told me that they can’t get to the school any earlier than 5:30 (I was going to offer them space in our driveway, but apparently I can’t. It’s a pity because they’re going to have to come by here to get their kids’ backpacks and such anyway). The other people we know at the school who we know well enough to let park in our driveway mostly live in walking distance. And the ones who don’t would have asked. I’ve been home the whole time, and my cell phone is on, and the landline is active.
We kind of don’t want to call to have them towed without knowing who they are. There might be a reasonable explanation. I can’t think of one, but there might be. I mean, street parking within three blocks of the school is pretty much entirely gone but parking in someone’s driveway without asking?
Seriously, who does that?
I’m kind of hoping that it’s just that Cordelia’s friend’s parents arrived an hour earlier than they expected and just assumed that parking there was fine because we’ve always offered before. But I don’t really think that’s what’s happened because I’m very sure they’d have taken a moment to tell me.
