Jul. 1st, 2011 02:23 pmScott worked on Sunday, and neither of us realized it was the 26th until about eight o'clock in the evening when Delia spotted the entry 'Anniversary' on Scott's iCal. It was a little late to do anything special that day, but it marks our eighteenth wedding anniversary. I'm still just as pleased to be married to Scott as I was that day-- I hated the process of getting married. That was annoying at best. I wanted to be married. I haven't regretted it.
We ended up celebrating on Monday by going to Red Lobster. On the way home, we bought a cherry pie, so we'd have a special treat. I let Scott pick the restaurant and the dessert because I'd made so many recent decisions about celebrating. I figured it was his turn.
All week, Delia's had a friend over in the afternoons. The friend has been at camp at Delia's school in the mornings, and we've been picking her up there at noon to bring her over here for the afternoon. They've watched a lot of Avatar: the Last Airbender and have only reluctantly done other things when I push them. Of course, yesterday I pushed, and they went biking, and the friend ended up with a badly skinned knee and elbow. Right now, they're in Delia's room. I can hear Delia's guitar.
Tuesday was Delia's annual well child doctor's visit. It was straightforward. There were no shots scheduled (always a fear for Delia). We got a ride to the doctor from
cherydactyl (whose daughter we've been hosting in the afternoons) and a ride home from Scott. As it turned out, I'd forgotten, but Scott shouldn't have been giving us a ride. He should have been at the dentist. He and I both forgot. Now he's scheduled for a cleaning some time in August.
Wednesday, Scott's Babylon 5 game met. I rolled more ones in that session than I ever have in a game session before-- There were, I think, five of them. I even switched d20s to no avail. Scott made me reroll some of the ones because our entire group would likely have been dead (my character was piloting our ship as we attempted to run away from pirates). He's told me that there will be in game consequences for the ones he had me reroll but that he hasn't yet decided what they are.

Date: 2011-07-01 07:07 pm (UTC)I think I'm happier for not thinking that that was supposed to be the happiest day of my life. It was a series of hoops to be jumped through, really, and not all of them went well. It was a great relief to be done with it.
