I slept badly last night due to pain. Nothing I did seemed to help. Most of the time, when I lie down, the pain eventually goes away. Last night, that didn’t happen. I don’t know why. I did make one change last night, and maybe it’s related. I don’t see how, though. The change was that we ran the ceiling fan all night. That helped with the problem of overheating, so that’s something, and, even if it does relate to the increased pain, my skin will heal. I’m likely to have the overheating problem for years and years yet.

The joint aches seem to be coming in the late afternoon or early evening, some time between 3:00 and 6:00. I’m not thrilled, but I can live with them. They mainly make me want to go to bed earlier because I know that, when I lie down, they’ll ease.

Cordelia has given up on watching The Voice. I’m not sure what happened with that because she just stopped in the middle of the season. That helps me and Scott because we have shows we want to watch on Mondays and Tuesdays, but I’m curious as to why the change. She seemed really into it and then— nothing.

Tomorrow’s doctor’s appointment is going to be a little inconvenient. It’s at 12:30 which means calling a cab at 11:30 (or leaving then to catch the bus), and I may not get home until after the cleaning lady arrives at 2:00. I have to wedge a lunch in there somewhere. I don’t want to wait until I get home because, if I’m not home before 2:00, I won’t be able to do anything in the kitchen/dining room area until 3:00 or 3:30. I also don’t much want to eat at 11:00 since the earliest I’ll get up is 8:00, and I can’t eat until half an hour to forty five minutes after I get up. That puts breakfast and lunch quite close together. Eating while I’m out would probably mean eating lunch in the waiting room, after the appointment, while I’m waiting for the cab home, and that doesn’t feel right, either.

We want to decorate our tree this weekend. Normally, we’d do that on Saturday, in the evening, but the friend Cordelia wants to invite can’t come over at any time on Saturday. So we have a choice between Scott being annoyed that we’re doing it on Sunday (the friend is available until 4 p.m. on Sunday) and Cordelia being upset that her friend isn’t there.

Scott thinks he’s going to make cookies for the tree decorating. I don’t think he realizes how much time is involved in that. We’ve only got one mixing bowl, so that has to be washed between each type of thing. We’ve only got one 9x13 pan suitable for baking bars in, so that has to be cooled, emptied and washed between recipes. I suppose, though, that he’s not limited to making bars. Unlike me, he can handle the prolonged effort of cookies on cookie sheets.

I’m a little surprised that Scott’s sister hasn’t started planning who’s bringing what to Christmas. I suppose that the fact that their parents are out of touch for the next week or so plays a big part in that. They need to be included in the planning, and they don’t have email access while they’re on their cruise.

Suddenly, I’m very, very tired. I’m going to post this and then lie down (and see how long Cordelia will let me rest before she comes in to hug me).

Maybe C was watching for a certain person and they got kicked off? Or maybe she just likes the beginning of the show?

Regardless, good luck with the cookies and decorating!
