Cordelia’s school apparently has some sort of LGBT-straight alliance group that meets occasionally on lunch hours. I hadn’t heard of it until Cordelia mentioned having gone to it yesterday, so I don’t know if it’s student led or faculty sponsored. It’s new, I think. I suppose that middle school aged kids are starting to be more aware of that sort of thing, just based on their age and the onset of puberty and all of that.
I have no idea what Cordelia’s orientation is/will be. So far, she hasn’t been interested. Maybe she never will be, and maybe she will. I’ve tried to make it clear that, however that goes, it’s fine no matter what anyone else may say.
My doctor’s appointment today went well but started very, very late. I didn’t see the doctor until an hour and a half after my scheduled time. I’ve gotten used to the oncologists who are very, very close to on time every appointment. I guess gastroenterologists fall behind. The doctor agreed with me that, if the meds are keeping my reflux under control, then having a gastric bypass in order to fix the hiatal hernia is excessive and probably unwise. She does want me to have another endoscopy, this time with a colonoscopy, 'in the spring.' I ended up with an appointment to do that in early March so as to avoid running into spring break which is some time in April. I’m not looking forward to that with anything resembling eagerness, but it’s necessary. Well, I hoped I could wait another couple of years for my first colonoscopy. I knew I’d need one at fifty, but apparently, breast cancer increases the risk of colon cancer. At least this a procedure that the doctor, herself, has been through.
Scott still hasn’t passed the stone, so he’s still in pain. I wish there was something we could do. He’s downing as much water as he can manage.
I’m pretty tired tonight, what with the having to go out earlier. I also very much want to drag Scott and Cordelia out to get fro-yo or bubble tea or something. I was tempted to try for dinner, but Scott really isn’t up to it. He isn’t up to fro-yo or bubble tea, either.
I’m trying to figure out what to do. Scott cooked all of that chicken last week with bacon, and we’ve still got about eight servings of it left. Then, yesterday, he cooked more chicken, this time without the bacon. I can’t eat chicken twice a day, so I can either eat the new stuff at dinner or eat the old stuff at lunch. I can’t do both. Nobody else is eating the stuff with the bacon. I don’t know why. Well, Cordelia will eat just about anything else that’s available in order to avoid chicken. Scott, well, I have no idea at all. The bacon chicken isn’t going to keep much longer, either.
