I have completely failed to do the things that I wanted to get done before I head out for PT (I have just enough time before then to write and post this. At least, I hope so). I really wanted to get to the crap in the basement, but I’m physically exhausted, and coffee and food haven’t helped. I just couldn’t manage more than doing the dishes and moving a few things so that they won’t be in the cleaning lady’s way. I probably should leave her a note explaining why I didn’t get to the basement this week. I told her I might not, but her English isn’t great, and I’m not sure she understood that I was talking about more than just not getting to it that particular day.

What I’d really like to do is to go back to bed. Unfortunately, there won’t be any point when I can do that until after dinner. Well, I could skip dinner. That’s kind of tempting. But the cleaning lady will already be here when I get back from PT, and she’ll stay until at least 4:30 and possibly later.

The automated system at the medical clinic I go to has suddenly decided that I’m past due for a pneumonia vaccination. I’m perfectly willing to get one. I’m just puzzled that this came out of nowhere. I was on there last week, and it said nothing about that, but now I’m past due. I sent a note to my doctor to ask about it. I was under the impression that the vaccination was recommended for people at age 50, and I’m not quite 49 yet. I have asked my doctor, in the past, if I should get it, but the answer has always been that it’s not necessary. Maybe they’ve changed the guidelines and now want people with asthma to get it, regardless of age? I’m kind of inclined, if I go in for the pneumonia vaccine, to get the shingles vaccine at the same time if I can. That’s not due until I’m 50, but I’m close, and my health has always been pretty lousy. It would be my luck to get shingles a month before I turn 50.

We watched Agents of SHIELD last night. There’s a kind of tug of war between Scott and Cordelia on that because it airs on Tuesdays at 9, and she has to head for bed at 9. She doesn’t want us to watch it without her, but Scott wants very badly to watch it immediately. He says he’d be more than happy to watch each episode twice so that he can watch it with Cordelia, too. She’s not willing to accept that solution.

There are only two shows that Cordelia is interested in watching with us— Agents of SHIELD and Supergirl. I tried to get her interested in Agent Carter since she likes the Marvel Cinematic Universe in general, but she hasn’t been willing to try even one episode. I think she’d probably enjoy The Flash, too, but she’s also not willing to try that.

Hi, new friend from the meme, here. I haven't responded to your 'about me' post yet, but I wanted to come by here to offer my support. I hope your day gets better. I'm just past 40 and haven't been told about any vaccines. Now, you've got me wondering...

I quite liked the new AOS. I'm most glad that Ward is still around, in whatever capacity. I don't watch the others, but a friend of mine is pushing me to watch Supergirl.

Take care!

I guess today is one of those wish I could just go back to bed days. The mister and I both said the same thing as he headed off to work. It's gray and rainy and doesn't look likely to let up all day.

Watching Agents of SHIELD twice seems like a reasonable compromise. It's too bad Cordelia isn't okay with it.

How weird that they're just not contacting you about a pneumonis vaccination!

All these health obligations and appts - it'd be nice to have a secretary who managed all that, wouldn't it? I was supposed to get a pneumonia shot (not sure if I did) but I made DAMN SURE to get a shingles shot. I'm older than you are and a couple of friends had it, and said it's agonizing. Shingles, that is, not the shot.

Even Frank (late spouse) that big ex-Marine screamed with pain from shingles. That is the LAST thing I need, or you, either.

I just want a secretary. Or a househusband. That'd REALLY rock.

Never been hugely into the Marvel universe lately. I do enjoy X-MEN and Wolverine though, but that's about it. :-P

Cool that you all enjoy the same thing though. :-)
