Scott just hauled me out on a brief walk. It was maybe a block and a half each way, but it involved a steep hill. The Ingress portal for the nearby church is centered on their sign which is almost at the bottom of the hill from where we are, and Scott wanted me to put some shields on it because he expects it to be attacked today or tomorrow (a couple of people from the other faction come through pretty regularly and knock out our local portals. Then Scott either takes them back or waits for the resonators to decay and takes the now unclaimed portals).
I created my first ever link today. I had never bothered to figure out how to do them, but Scott brought them up, so I asked him, and he showed me how.
Scott was up for walking to the nature center, too, but I would not have made it home if we had. As it was, I had trouble with the two steps on our front porch.
I’m still considering signing up for
wipbigbang. I went so far as to narrow down the options for stories to six, three Weiss Kreuz, one Narnia, one Amber, and one DC Universe (I can’t narrow that one down more in terms of fandom labels, not yet).
The one I feel the most impetus to finish, based on it being for someone specific, is the only one that I’m not sure can get to the 7500 word minimum.
There are two relatively happy PWP stories that are more than halfway to the minimum, but I haven’t added to either one in about two years. I’m pretty sure, though, that I could get them to the right length without getting drawn into actual plot.
The other three all run the risk of ballooning and becoming too big to finish. Because that is a thing I do with those sorts of stories. I might be able to keep one of them short by ruthlessly hacking out all of the scenes that I’ve built in my head that lead to further story, but I enjoy seeing where those things go.
I may post the list of possibilities later this weekend and ask for input, but I’m pretty sure most people don’t know all four fandoms. They’re a fairly odd, disconnected set, after all.
