Mar. 29th, 2016 11:17 amOkay. The trash is at the curb. One load of laundry is washing. (I found a second one that needs washing, but I may not get to it today.) The dirty dishes are in the dishwasher, and that’s almost full enough to run.
Cordelia managed to dress herself today with minimal help. I retrieved clothes for her since she really can’t pick things up and carry them, but she put on everything, except her left sock and shoe, unaided. Right now, she’s walking outside. The door is open even though it’s pretty cold outside (33F), and she has her phone. She needs to do this to know that she can, but that doesn’t mean I’m not worried. She can’t open the screen door by herself. It’s too stiff for her to open it from the inside, and there’s no space for her to do it on the outside, even apart from the stiffness.
And she’s back. She says she went most of the way to the crosswalk by the school and then came back. That wore her out, so school tomorrow will be rough, I suspect. I am going to make it clear to her and to the school that, if she gets too tired, I will come and get her. Unfortunately, she’ll still have to walk home, but… There’s not much I can do about that.
I’m not giving her Tylenol any more, just ibuprofen every eight hours. I will probably start up the Tylenol again tomorrow just because I think the effort involved in a full day of school will leave her in some pain. I’d rather do what we can to ease that in advance rather than have her completely wiped out.
One good thing about me walking Cordelia to and from school, it will build up my stamina a bit. That’s far enough to tire me. Oh, and I can take the books we’re donating to the school library in two or three at a time. Otherwise, we probably couldn’t take them in until May some time.
