May. 31st, 2016 01:15 pmI had five strawberries yesterday, and so far, I’m doing okay. I had a banana a couple of hours ago, too, so I’ll see how that affects me.
Scott and Cordelia both really, really wanted to do something yesterday, but none of us could think of anything to do. Cordelia’s not interested in museums (and I can’t necessarily manage the walking involved). All three of us hate picnics. Cordelia’s very much against the idea of trying to find something for the three of us to watch together or of playing a game together. She was also against the idea of inviting a friend to visit. I’m not sure what’s up with that. She says she wants to, but when I suggest a time, she says no.
We ended up going to Orange Leaf for frozen yogurt in the evening. Cordelia had a coupon from school that she got for raising more than $100 in the Fun Run, and she used that. I got more than I meant to, but I’m pretty sure that most of that was toppings. I keep seeing stuff and thinking, "Ooh! That looks good!"
Scott and I did a bit of Ingress after we got back from Orange Leaf. He needs 500,000 points to go up a level. I need 600,000. I’m trying to decide if there’s any way that I can handle going to central campus for a while, just to wander around and hack portals. Downtown is better in terms of me being able to capture portals, but the last time I was on the Diag, there were some high level portals. Scott’s complaining about not having level eight resonators, and the only way to get those is to hack high level portals a lot.
I have a CD out from the library that’s supposed to be a two CD set but that only has one CD in the case. Sadly, I rather expect I’m going to have to pay for the dratted thing even though it came to me that way. I’ve had my three lifetime it’s-not-my-fault items at the library, so I think I’m stuck. I’ve emailed the library to ask what I should do.
Right at the moment, we have a guy in who’s checking over airflow in the house and cataloging the places where we lose heat in the winter and all of that. He’ll be here about another three hours, and he’s going to have to go pretty much everywhere, including the bedrooms. I don’t like having a stranger in the house because it makes me feel judged (even our cleaning lady, who, after nearly thirteen years, is not a stranger, makes me feel this way, so…).
I managed to both load and run the dishwasher and to change the sheets on our bed entirely on my own yesterday. I consider the latter a huge accomplishment because I didn’t stop to rest in the middle. Four months ago, I’d have had to do it in four or five stages. A month ago, I’d have needed to rest between stripping the bed and making it again.
In terms of chores for today, I’ve got a pretty short list and have already done some of what’s on it. I’ve got a lot of other, more time consuming things that I want to do but may not get to. Right now, I’m working toward getting myself to write. I just don’t want to write the thing that’s got a looming deadline. I’m not sure if I can make myself do it.
