Jun. 5th, 2016 12:21 pmI’m still struggling with my WIP Big Bang story. Some of it is the themes and such being difficult. Some of it is plot and character development decisions. Some of it is more technical how-do-I-convey-this stuff. I really want to stay in Jadis’s POV, but that seriously limits what I can do to reach the ending that I want without having readers feel like it comes out of nowhere. This story is due on the 19th. Anyone willing to read what I’ve got and talk to me about it would be welcomed enthusiastically, but this is darkfic and involves child abuse (no sex).
I’ve been getting very poor signal for my cell phone at home the last two or three days. I have no idea why. The signal is fine when I go out, so I don’t think it’s my phone. It’s still enough that I can make and receive calls, but I can’t figure out why the signal should suddenly be so weak.
The Comcast office is open until 6:00 on weekdays, so it’s possible Scott could get there after work if he did it before showering and if he pulled all the equipment the night before. I think that means it’s more likely to happen Tuesday than Monday because the show Cordelia wants to see is at 8:00 or 8:30. I don’t see Scott starting to pull things after that, not on a Sunday when he’s trying to get the last little bit of relaxation out of the weekend.
I got about ten hours of sleep last night, and I’m no longer achy. I had anxiety dreams about remembering to take my medications at the right intervals. This is actually a fairly common anxiety dream for me as is dreams about being able to find food (and combinations of the two come up pretty often). I have anxiety dreams about getting to appointments on time, about finding the right bus route to go where I need to go, about waking up at the right time to get to wherever I need to go.
I found shelf space for all of our DVDs. Some of them are double stacked, and they’re in no particular order, but they’re off the floor and no longer stacked on tables or sitting in boxes of stuff we haven’t sorted yet. I guess the next step is to put the dratted things in some sort of order. I’d like to figure out where to put all of the CDs, too. We’ve got thirty or forty of those in piles on the desk in the study, and they absolutely won’t fit on the rack that holds our other CDs.
I emailed the kindergarten teachers at Cordelia’s school last Tuesday to see if any of them want the games we’re getting rid of that are aimed at five year olds. I’m not sure how long to wait for them to get back to me.
