I’m making no progress on my to do list. Well, no, that’s not entirely true. I got that stupid Social Security form done. Hopefully my going over the blue ink in black will be adequate. I can’t get it in the mail today unless I make Scott go out immediately after he gets home (and even then, it may be too late) or I go downtown now. Since my weather app says that it 'feels like 95F' out there, I’m very, very reluctant to venture outside.
I’m considering whether or not I want to make the effort to alphabetize my anime and our English language TV DVDs. The boxed sets make that a lot harder, given the space available, than alphabetizing the movies was. Of course, the movies are in the one space that might fit boxed sets without a lot of fudging, but I’m not sure that either the TV or the anime would fit that shelf, and the movies do with just enough space left for us to add a few things.
I think there has to be a box of books in the basement that I’ve missed. There are at least five books that I know I own but that I haven’t been able to find. If there is an additional box of books, it’s either not labeled or is mislabeled. The ones I haven’t opened claim to contain Scott’s various collectible card games and board games and things like that. My mother labeled things, and I know she was pretty careful, but maybe I moved things around and just don’t remember? We boxed things up before Cordelia could walk, so me forgetting isn’t entirely unlikely. There are a lot of things I don’t remember in any detail. I’ve never been good at keeping memories that way.
I’m down to ten emails to answer. If yours is one of them, I apologize. These are all things I want to reply to with thought, and I keep failing to do it.
I still need to call my grandmother. Maybe I can do it tomorrow. The longer I put it off, the harder it gets. I wish I could write to her instead, but she’s pretty much blind.
I need to post on the rp scene I’m doing on DW. I feel really bad about that because I’ve been taking days to tag back, and it really ought not be that hard. I think that part of the problem is that we’re doing a bit of story that doesn’t play to my strengths. The characters aren’t actually talking to each other, and I tend to lose direction when that happens.
I want to undertake a project to look at the LPs that Scott and I have kept. We haven’t played any of them in the time we’ve been married, but we also haven’t gotten rid of them. We have a turntable that we purchased with the intention of digitizing those LPs but haven’t used because it takes time and focus. At this point, I’m not even sure what I’ve got. Some of it could certainly go. Now that vinyl is coming back a bit, maybe someone else would even want them.
Beyond that, there are the maintenance chores in terms of laundry and dishes and cooking. There are also a bunch of other bits of sorting and shelving and washing and getting rid of stuff that I need to work on. The second set of tasks actually can be finished. Eventually. If I just work at them, bit by bit.
I’ve also got a lot of library books I want to read and a lot of DVDs, library and otherwise, that I want to watch. I’m prioritizing the three books that can’t be renewed and the one book that I’ve renewed four times.
But really, writing the WIP Big Bang fic ought to come first. I think I can do that today and tomorrow. If I focus on it, maybe I can hit the right word count and find an ending. I’m thinking it will end up with a sequel or sequels in order to get to the ending I expect. Right now, I just want to finish this bit.

Date: 2016-07-08 07:51 pm (UTC)We started digitizing our LPs so we could put them on iTunes to listen to on road trips but that didn't mean getting rid of the vinyl. The mister has been collecting music since he was a preteen and he's still got 95% of them (some were stolen when he was in university but he's replaced most of those). Our house is going to be a nightmare to sift through if and when we move.

Date: 2016-07-14 07:52 pm (UTC)Yeah, we want to digitize our LPs for iTunes as well. It's just tedious to do and something that I care about much more than Scott does but something he understands much better than I do. So I want it done and have time to do it but am not sure how to do it (even after him showing me a couple of times), and he knows how to do it but really doesn't care whether or not it happens or have time to spend on it.
