Jul. 11th, 2016 01:24 pmOh, and Scott has definitely decided to change our ISP. We’re getting about one twelfth of the speed we’re supposed to be getting, and that means that we can’t stream/download anything at all.
If you’re still using one of my Earthlink addresses, let me know and I’ll give you my Gmail address instead. I think it’s mostly my family that hasn’t made the switch, though. Well, and a lot of people I haven’t exchanged messages with in years.
There are some other things, like my Discover card account, that need to be changed, too. Hopefully, I can find all of them. Hm. My records show 'email address' as my login for DTE (the power company). I wonder which address that is? I’m not sure changing the address with Donors Choose matters given that that particular account seems to be otherwise broken, and I haven’t ordered from Rightstuf since before Cordelia started school (and they botched my order and refused to fix it, so…). I definitely don’t care about Math Blaster. I don’t think Cordelia’s even looked at the site in years. Okay, Netflix may need to be changed; I don’t know if the login there needs to be a valid email address given that mine is a subsidiary account and they only ever email Scott. Yahoo groups are another place that I need to change things, but I really don’t want to go to Gmail there, at least not long term.
Amazon is frustrating me because I changed my email address there years ago, but it’s still not possible to find my wishlist unless one searches the Earthlink address. I suppose they must have some sort of customer service folks who could change that for me.
I should probably check my various rp accounts on DW/LJ. I haven’t done anything with those in years and years, but I don’t want to miss it if DW or LJ decides to delete those old accounts for some reason. It’s just that that will require logging in to see what address is attached. I can do that, but I’m not feeling highly motivated right at the moment.

Date: 2016-07-12 01:47 pm (UTC)I remember though-- Scott's parents dropped their ISP at one point and were completely astonished to be unable to access their email accounts. I think they thought those were like phone numbers in terms of being more portable and independent of the service used. They couldn't figure out why it didn't work any more.
