It's almost 6:00, and I'm still waiting for the UPS pick up. I want to do laundry. I want to shower. I want to go for a walk. I can’t do any of that until after the pick up happens. Scott’s working late, so I can’t ask him to watch the door.

I have a couple of other things I want to do that I could do while waiting. I just haven’t managed to get myself to start them. I’ve listened to all of my library CDs, instead, and watched the first third of a DVD lecture series about the Persian empire. That last is interesting, but I’m not sure how much I’m going to remember.

I did a few other cat waxing activities.

First, I separated my list of library DVDs that I want to try into English language DVDs and non-English language DVDs. I’m not sure I got that entirely accurate because the catalog records claim that just about everything is in English even when I’m quite sure it’s not. I just had to guess in a couple of cases.

Second, I tried to track down sources for some of the fragments of poetry that I noted as possible story titles. I have about thirty fragments still unlabeled out of at least a hundred (and possibly twice that many). I found sources for about twenty fragments.

Third, I decided on a title for my Iddy Iddy Bang Bang story: The Fruit of Your Intents. That comes from "She Proves the Inconstancy of the Desires and Criticism of Men Who Accuse Women of What They Themselves Cause" by Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz.

Fourth, I got about three quarters of the way through that set of questions about how one interacts with DreamWidth. Then I hit a point where I was going to have to think hard to answer and so gave up. I may post the incomplete meme. I may not. I may finish it. I may not.

I studied Sor Juana a bit in college and remember liking her work.

I ran across this poem in a book of women poets from antiquity to the present which had a few poems from two or three hundred different women from different parts of the world throughout history all translated into English by different people.

UPS not coming until it's this late is really frustrating. It's tied up your entire day.

When I did the help chat with UPS and Amazon, I tried to be polite, but it was pretty hard. I got very cranky with the UPS person (? I'm not convinced it wasn't a bot) when they asked me for the third time if I had gone to a UPS store. I gave the same answer all three times-- That it was impossible for me to do so because I can't drive.
