I really, really want chocolate. Or something else sweet if I can’t have chocolate. We have apple pie and vanilla ice cream, but I’m very unenthusiastic about both. Neither have much flavor/character.

Scott has said that he is absolutely not going out for anything tonight, though, not even the prescription I need filled. I’m pretty frustrated about the prescription because, short of taking a cab out there, there isn’t a good way for me to fill it myself.

Not getting a prescription filled? That's not good.

Apple pie and vanilla ice cream sound pretty good to me.

I have chocolate here, but I also have... my stomach, and James can only have so much chocolate a day, so ironically the only person of us three who has absolute free reign over the chocolate here is Jason.

I so know that feeling... and we have choc bits in the freezer but Sis wants them for cooking and will NOT love me if they aren't there tomorrow...

Have you considered looking at courier services? In Minneapolis, there's one called Street Fleet that I have an account for. (It's primarily for business, but I've occasionally used it for personal things.)

It's generally around $9 to $15 for delivery, with options for immediate, or 1-, 2-, or 3-hour delivery. And they're fine with "go to X place, pick up the package with Y name on it, and deliver it to Z place."

Usually cheaper than a cab. Though Uber will also do those kinds of deliveries in a pinch.

I think we're talking about two different things. I'm not talking about a personal shopping service. I'm talking about a courier service that goes to point A, picks up an item, and delivers it to point B. It won't work for doing your grocery shopping, but it would work for picking up already-paid-for prescriptions where you've already called the pharmacy to tell them X service will be coming for the package -- or for the grocery if it's just one item that you've paid for by credit card over the phone.

If your pharmacy only does paper prescriptions, does your pharmacy accept faxed prescriptions? If you have a scanner, you can fax it for free over the Internet.

And if I'm being what Making Light calls "hlepy," feel free to tell me to stop.
