I've finally picked a fic to remix. I haven't decided on my angle of attack yet, but I've selected the fic. Writing starts tomorrow (tonight, I'm busy with Scott's Babylon 5 game). I actually consulted with Scott in the process of selecting the fic because nothing leapt out at me and demanded to be remixed. My remixee is prolific, so I had more choices than I knew what to do with. I'm remixing in a fandom I've not done much with before, so it should prove interesting.
I decided to sign up for the Finishathon. The process of signing up and having people vote on the plot bunnies takes long enough that assignments won't go out until right around when Remix is due. I can live with that timeline.
It looks like we're going to be on our own for Easter this year. At least, I can't imagine that Scott's sister's in-laws will invite us to join them when Scott's sister and her family won't be there. They've been kind enough to include us in years past because we haven't anywhere else to go. Scott's parents are always traveling at Easter now.
At any rate, I'm now trying to figure out a good Easter meal. It'll just be the three of us, and I can't handle a ham (it does bad things to my reflux). Maybe we'll roast a chicken or experiment with lamb. I've never cooked lamb or mutton. Then again, given how warm it already is this year (it passed 80 today!), we may need to focus on things that don't require the oven. We have no Easter traditions to speak of, so I suppose I should look at this as an opportunity to create some.
Delia is working her way steadily through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. She freaked out a bit when Dobby was killed. Scott and I think it has to do with how he died rather than that he died. Avada kadavra deaths don't bother her-- She knows that people can't really die that way-- but Dobby was stabbed. That was a little too real. Since she says she's okay with bad things happening to parents now, we're going to try the Percy Jackson books next. At least, we will if I can find the copy of the first book that I bought last month. It's disappeared into Delia's room.
