Today’s going to be a busy day. Cordelia has two appointments. There’s just a bit more time between them than is necessary to get from one to the other, and I’m trying to figure out the best way to do things. We’ll need to get lunch in between, somehow, but there isn’t a good place for doing that near either appointment, and stopping on the way there is hard because we’ll be taking cabs. (I thought about buses, but I still don’t have gloves. Also, it would mean not having time to eat.)
My hands are giving me some problems. The 'night' splints help a lot if I wear them during the day when my hands have started hurting. I can’t wear them all the time because when I have them on I can’t do simple things in the way of self care. I don’t fasten them entirely; just the first velcro strap is enough to make the things give me support.
I tried the capsaicin cream. I don’t think I can use it long term. The part of my arm where I put some to test didn’t react badly, but six or so hours later, when I went to bed and pulled up the blankets, that arm burned painfully. Not being able to put my hands under blankets or to wear gloves or whatever would be a big problem.
