the_rckPart of me feels like I should apologize for the prolonged absence (It certainly ended up a lot longer than I expected...), part of me feels like I should keep delaying posting here until I can adequately cover what's happened in the last two months, and part of me knows that the only thing to do is to go ahead and write. I regret not keeping up with all of you, but... I needed the time off.
I finished the Egypt LARP, and we ran it at GenCon. We got18 players for 20 characters, and everybody seemed to have fun. The other game didn't go as well. Technically, we should have cancelled because we didn't get the minimum number of players, but we were so close that Scott ran a couple of characters to fill in holes. I hate canceling.
GenCon had its ups and downs. The only lasting ill effect is that I lost my wedding ring some time during the day on Friday. I remember putting it on in the morning and then noticed in the evening that I wasn't wearing it anymore. We didn't find it in the room when we cleared out or in any of the bags after we got home. I asked the hotel to look for it and left word at the convention center that I'd pay shipping. It's been nearly a month with no word, so I think the ring's gone.
The ring wasn't anything fancy. I don't like protrusions on my rings, so we didn't bother going to any jewelry stores. Scott's sister spotted these in one of those NPR/PBS mail order catalogs. They're silver bands unadorned apart from a triangular purple stone set flush with the surface of the ring. I think we paid about $50 each. Hopefully, I can find the catalog again; the last time I saw it, it still had the rings.

Date: 2002-09-08 08:59 am (UTC)I've been delaying because I'm feeling a trifle overwhelmed by the thought of the number of entries my various favorites have made in the last two months... I'd like to read them all but find getting started (and dedicating that much time) a bit more than I can face.
Tell you what-- I'll post on OD on Monday. It'll be the same stuff I've been posting here, but making the commitment means I'll probably actually do it.
