Sep. 30th, 2002 05:08 pmOur new mattress arrived on Saturday, rather sooner than we'd expected it. We didn't try to put it together then because Scott was scheduled to work 12 hours, and I didn't want to tackle it alone. I also didn't think he'd be up to it after 12 hours on his feet.
As it turned out, Scott's job sent him home after only 8 hours, but I think I still made the right decision about the bed. I dragged him along to the play I'd planned to go to. One of the players in my Saturday Amber campaign wrote a play for National Coming Out Day, and Scott and I went to see it with Alessar. (LunarGeography had planned to attend, but she wasn't feeling well.) The play came across as a work in progress more than anything. They did what amounted to a staged reading because they'd revised the script so many times. The program said that originally they'd intended to do a series of skits but had realized that intercutting the skits into a single piece worked better. I have to agree.
I think that Rain, the author, was pleased with how it went, and we got to meet her girlfriend. The play ran about half an hour which was just as well as the venue was small and pretty crowded. A few of the people present hadn't bathed quite recently enough. (Of course, I'm just too damn odor sensitive. It gets worse at various points in my menstrual cycle. I wonder sometimes how I can ever manage to ride public transportation...)
