the_rckScott had planned to spend Sunday painting the garage, but the weather forecasts predicted rain, so he opted for building the new bed instead. The first order of business was draining the waterbed. He went out and rented a pump while I worked on doing it with just the hose. I don't think we'd have gotten the bladder empty enough for one person to move without the pump. After the pump arrived, my contribution consisted of walking on the bladder a bit, monitoring the pump (with earplugs in after I realized just how noisy the stupid thing was) and generally helping when Scott asked.
The first night on the new bed was a restless one for both of us. It doesn't move the way we're used to, and neither of us, I think, quite has the firmness adjusted right. The new mattress is a few inches higher than the old, and I'm finding it more effort to get into and out of bed. Also, after Scott's alarm goes off, he normally hits snooze, and then we both move to the center of the bed to cuddle for a few minutes. The pressure difference made that difficult this morning. I felt like I was climbing a cliff and then lying right along the edge of it.
