the_rckI found someone who agreed to beta read my Weiss Kreuz story. I'd wanted someone besides LunarGeography because she knows how my mind works and knows what I'm trying to accomplish with the story. That means that she can easily bridge gaps in the exposition that other readers might fall into and can interpret even the vaguest of pronouns (I suppose it comes of all the years of gaming together... I know that our ability to do that in the Wednesday Amber game has occasionally made the other two players feel like they're missing something. Which I suppose they are).
At any rate, I sent off the first 28 pages to my new beta reader and have been waiting to hear back. Given the length of what I sent and the probability that this person has some sort of life in addition to beta reading... Well, let's just say that I'm not holding my breath. In the meantime, I'm inching forward with new material and contemplating rewriting the next section. I want to get the rewrite done before I send part two to the beta reader since the disconnect between the two sections will be extremely jarring otherwise, and part of me thinks that working on the rewrite might require less effort, or at least effort of a very different sort.
