I've now seen Spiderman. Scott had been looking forward to showing it to me ever since he saw it in the theater, so I wasn't surprised that he took care of it promptly. I thought the movie was pretty good, but I doubt it will ever go on a list of my favorites. The story held together, and the effects were impressive. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the movie to anyone who likes superhero stuff.

Of course, I'm now seeing commercials for the next Harry Potter movie and wishing I didn't have to wait. Then there's The Two Towers... Scott's already making plans to see it with friends, and I'm jealous. I want very badly to go, but common sense prevails. I don't want the days long migraine that would go with it. I really, really don't. It's more that part of me wants to believe that I could get away with it at least once or twice. And every time I turn around I see another commercial for a movie that interests me (One for Disney's Treasure Planet just ended...).

I don't know if you've seen it, but I loved Monsters, Inc. - and it's out on DVD now....

I haven't seen any of those other movies besides Monsters, Inc. (which is going on my Christmas wishlist).

I suspect that some of it is that I mostly rent movies with Scott, so we compromise both our tastes and stick with the stuff we'll both enjoy. I don't go for military stuff, and he doesn't go much for the sentimental. Fortunately, there's still quite a bit of common ground.

I've seen it. I'm putting it on my Christmas list.

Scott couldn't wait for it to be on DVD because he knew I'd enjoy it (he hadn't seen it, but it's the sort of thing I do like). He loves watching me watch that sort of movie.
