LunarGeography and I are going to drive north to visit my grandmother on Tuesday. I'm very much looking forward to it. I haven't seen her since my cousin's wedding in July, and then I saw her only in passing. It'll be good to have a chance to talk to her. I expect we'll see my aunts and uncles too, but I'm less concerned with seeing them than with seeing my grandmother. I find myself wondering from time to time just how much longer she'll be around. I don't have the option of visiting my grandfather in the Keys, but I can get up to East Tawas occasionally. Once in a while, Scott's even able to go too.f

That's right, I forgot you have family up there! I hope it's not too late in the season to see some nice tree colors on your drive. I haven't been up north in years. Not that East Tawas is my destination, but you have to drive through it to get to Oscoda. :) Have a good time.

I've got an aunt and uncle in Oscoda, so I've been there many times too. They've got a very nice house on a bluff overlooking a river (I forget which one, and I really ought to know). The phone company actually owns the river bank, so they don't technically have waterfront property.

I do hope it will be pretty as we're driving. I'd like LunarGeography to see some of the positives of that area (At least she'll be missing the tourists!).
